If you're looking at investing in either Zipify Pages to build your Shopify landing pages, or Clickfunnels to create full e-commerce funnels, this guide will ensure you know all the facts before you put down your hard earned cash.
Zipify Pages is a page builder, designed specifically to work with your Shopify store. It allows you to create pages and blog posts directly on to your store. Clickfunnels is a full featured funnel and page builder application that works independently of your e-commerce store.
Transparency alert – I've been a customer for BOTH Zipify Pages and Clickfunnels for a number of years, and they are used in my main e-commerce business every day. Both have a place in my marketing technology stack. This comparison article does contain affiliate links for both applications, and I may be rewarded for you buying either product through my links.
First of all lets get the elephant in the room out of the way… pricing
How do Zipify and ClickFunnels compare on Price?
Lets be clear, neither app is cheap.
If you're looking for a cheap page builder, then there's plenty of poorly developed applications with non-existent support out there. Clickfunnels and Zipify don't fall in to either of these categories.
In my experience, you certainly get what you pay for with software.
Both Zipify and Clickfunnels are well supported, with a strong development roadmap so you know they'll continue to work for your business for years to come.
Just ClickFunnels is $97/month and their full Etison suite containing additional email list management and affiliate program is $297/month. Additionally they have discounted rates for annual payment.
The Etison suite includes unlimited pages and funnels, where as the standard is limited to 20 Funnels and 100 pages. You'd be surprised how quickly you rack through that quota of pages!
Zipify Pages Pricing
Zipify Pages has two pricing tiers. Basic is $67/month, and Plus is $97/month with a 13% saving for annual payment. The Plus account gives you access to the split testing, blogging and booster page functionality, which is some of the best ways to profit with Zipify Pages.
Both tiers allow unlimited page creation, dynamic product integration with shopify and scarcity timers.
One thing you'll need to take in to account of you run Clickfunnels you'll not need to have a Shopify store if you don't need all the store functionality and just want to create individual product sales funnels.
With Zipify Pages you'll need an active Shopify store account which is at least $29/month, but I'd strongly recommend the $79/month account at minimum.
And your Zipify Pages account will only work on one store. So if you run multiple stores you'll need multiple Zipify Pages subscriptions.
What Are The Page Builders Like To Use?
ClickFunnels Page Hierarchy and Elements
The first thing to get your head around with ClickFunnels is how a page is structured.
The hierarchy is as follows
Sections: Deciding if you are using Full width of the page, or wide, medium or small
Rows: within a section you can have multiple rows with varying number of columns, with configurable widths
Elements: within a column, you can add different content elements aligned vertically
Adding these to your page is a relatively intuitive drag and drop process.
Once you get your head around the structure, it makes building pages a quick process. One thing to keep in mind is this structure kinda goes out the window on a mobile device, as the order of the sections, rows, columns, and elements defines the order they are displayed on the mobile page.
You can get quite fine control over the spacing and placement of content elements, but it can quickly get frustrating to keep track of spacing and padding across the page!
Zipify Pages Simplified Content Blocks
Zipify Pages is a much more simple in design, which limits you in some respects, but makes the creation of pages much quicker.
Zipify works with pre-defined content blocks. For example an entire block with just a single column of text… or another block with half showing text, and the other half an image. Initially it seems quite limiting for pinpoint page design, but you'll quickly discover there's more than enough options to customise the way your page looks.
One of the brilliant features of Zipify is the dynamic insertion of product page information from your Shopify products.
Simply select a block with a product element in it, and then select the product and variant you want to import the content from. It'll pull the product title, images, description and pricing information. It means if you adjust the product within your Shopify dashboard it'll dynamically update the content on your page.
Another nice feature is you can import elements from your normal Shopify theme in to the pages you build on Zipify Pages. For example you can include the header and footer sections from your theme, as well as standard font styles too. This way you get a uniform look across all your pages.
Integrations: Clickfunnels vs Zipify Pages
As with any application, the way that it integrates with your current marketing technology stack is vitally important. Often times it's the make or break decision for you.
Clickfunnels has an impressive range of integrations for everything from shipping APIs, email service providers and webinar software.
You'll find the most common email service providers including:
…but curiously not ActiveCampaign, however the use of the HTML form functionality will work in most cases the integration is not already in place.
Zipify Pages Integrations
Zipify pages splits it's integrations in to CRMs (or email service providers) and then everything else, including integrations with other popular Shopify Apps
Zipify Pages email service providers are much more e-commerce focused. Including Klaviyo, which is my CRM of choice for Shopify stores. Others include:
On the subject of Klaviyo, it's clearly a favourite of Zipify developers too, with a tight integration that's super easy to set up and add in to the pages you build.
Split Testing With The Page Builders
Split testing is clearly an important part of your marketing strategy. Both ClickFunnels and Zipify Pages have split testing functionality built in (with Zipify Pages it's part of their higher priced Plus tier)
Testing different variants of landing pages and the subsequent funnel pages can make the difference between a failing or winning ad campaign and offer. When you're able to create split tests quickly and easily, you'll be more inclined to run more tests.
Clickfunnels Split Testing
Both Clickfunnels and Zipify Pages allow you to create simple A/B split tests, which for most people is as deep as you need to go. A/B/C/D tests end up getting super complicated and difficult to analyse without a massive amount of traffic.
In Clickfunnels, the process to create a split test can occur at any step of your funnel. Simply clicking the button under ‘Start Split Test' allows you the ability to create a duplicate of the control page, which you then edit to make the changes you want to test. Or, you can start a new page from a template to build a completely different variant to test.
You've got a slider to decide the percentage of traffic to be driven at each variant of the page, and Clickfunnels will track the stats for the pages.
Zipify Pages Split Testing Functionality
Once again this is as easy as creating a duplicate version of the page you want to test, or create an entirely new page to test against in the normal page builder.
Then go in to the Split Testing section of Zipify Pages and click the “Create Test” button. Simply select the A page and the B page and the spread of traffic to each page. It'll then give you the URL to send traffic to.
Zipify Pages works differently to calculate the split test results. It doesn't track the results within the app itself, it uses data from the Google Analytics integration with the app to pull the results. It'll clearly display which is your winning test, and give you the ability to select a winner and then drive all your traffic to the winning page.
As you'd expect for a page building app both Zipify and Clickfunnels have a library of ready made page and funnel templates that you can import and edit. This is in addition to starting a new page from a blank page.
Clickfunnels Templates Library
Clickfunnels has two ways to create a new page/funnel.
1. Cookbook Builder Process
This is where you select a pre-defined type of funnel, everything from a Video Sales Letter Funnel to a Storefront Funnel. Once you've selected a type of funnel, you'll be presented with a list of pre-designed templates, some FREE and others are PAID premium templates from their funnel marketplace
2. Classic Funnel Builder
In this option you get to select the goal of your funnel, collect emails, sell products or hosting webinars. Each option leads you to the next question of what type of funnel you want to create eg. Product launch, Sales funnel or Membership. Once selected it'll create a blank funnel structure, which then allows you to select the templates you want to use.
There's dozens of templates on Clickfunnels and the FREE ones will suffice in most cases. In honesty I've not had need to use any of the paid templates. Obviously set up as an additional revenue stream for ClickFunnels.
Zipify Pages Templates
Once again, Zipify Pages keeps this function simple. In many ways this is a plus mark for Zipify Pages vs Clickfunnels. Simplicity means you get on and create your pages quickly without too much fuss. Clickfunnels can get a bit fussy with its overly complex structure.
As of writing, Zipify has 32 page templates of different types. The biggest difference is these templates are all taken from Ezra Firestone's own successful e-commerce store. Ezra runs an 8-figure cosmetics brand and multiple smaller 7-figure brands. Zipify is essentially his development team for his own stores.
Rather than creating full funnel structure, like you'd do with ClickFunnels, you're simply creating individual pages for your Shopify site. The templates provided give you proven Product Offer pages, Opt in pages, Long form sales pages. All of which can be edited to your own design and requirement.
Product Support And Documentation
I mentioned right at the start the importance of support and ongoing development for an app worthy of my e-commerce tech stack.
Personally I'd prefer LESS functionality with better support, rather than a million features and crappy support.
A good indication is the support documentation for an application. Most of the time the support documentation is freely available to view without ever needing to buy the application. It's worthwhile taking a look at both ClickFunnels and Zipify Pages documentation, and it'll give you an idea of how easy it is to set up and use the tool.
Zipify Pages wins hands down for support documentation. With clearly laid out articles, images, how to files and videos.
When it comes to getting someone at the other end of the chat box or email. I'm looking for Quality of response as much as speed. I don't expect support 24/7 but at least a response within 12-24 hours of submitting a ticket.
My experience with Zipify has certainly been better with Zipify Pages over the years, with expert, knowledgable staff manning the support desk, and normally able to give me a quality answer in good time.
Clickfunnels on the other hand has on occasions been slow and not particularly helpful. It means I tend to sway more to creating pages with Zipify rather than Clickfunnels in most cases.
Conclusion: Which is better ClickFunnels or Zipify Pages
Considering I have accounts with both products, both paying the top tier pricing, I clearly rate BOTH applications.
However when it comes to my E-commerce brand, I'll mostly use Zipify Pages. It ticks pretty much all the boxes for a page builder if you're using Shopify.
I generally use Clickfunnels for my non e-commerce activity, specifically if I want to create a membership site, which is one of the hidden star features of ClickFunnels.
Zipify Pages is certainly worth the $97/month investment, and there's plenty of ways to profit from the application if used correctly.
If you're looking to get Zipify Pages, make sure you use my link below and email me your receipt. I'll then send you one of my top performing Product Offer pages as a template to use on your store.
